There can be a very mild sensation similar to a pinch on the skin. After the needles are all inserted there will be no pain and you will start to feel their therapeutic effects within minutes!
Cupping has the unique sensation that can be described as a tightening or pulling of the skin. It is not painful. After the treatment there will be bruise like markings, however, these too are only visually shocking but not painful.
Make sure to have a good meal several hours before your appointment. It is best to have a treatment not immediately after a meal but also no so long after a meal that you are hungry. Wearing loose comfortable clothing that you can relax in will be ideal. Wearing makeup should be avoided as there are many acupuncture points located on the face that are commonly used and the surface of the skin should be clean prior to inserting needles. Makeup remover will be conveniently available for you.
Depending on the condition we are treating it may be necessary to undress certain pieces of clothing. You will be expertly draped in linen to expose only the necessary areas to be worked on. Common areas that will most likely be requested to access include the full back and upper/lower abdomen. In the case of lower back issues it is common to request access to the buttocks. Great care will be taken to respect your privacy and ensure you are comfortable during your treatment.
At this time we do not accept any types of medical insurance.
